I'm John Razalo — a filmmaker & photographer based in Hong Kong.

With an obsessive passion for visual storytelling and color, I bring a cinematic (often nostalgic) look to life.

I've had the opportunity to work with incredible clients, renowned brands, and talented artists across various industries ranging from film to advertising, concerts to music festivals, and digital media. My portfolio includes a wide variety of narrative projects, music videos, commercials, branded content, and events.

Some of my past works include Apple, Hypebeast, 88rising, Rolling Loud, Ultra Music Festival, S2O Festival and more.

I've also collaborated with artists such as Jay Park, Swae Lee, Central Cee, Denzel Curry, DJ Snake and many more.

With years of experience in the industry, I now specialize in directing, cinematography, color grading, and film emulation.

Driven by my passion and desire to contribute to the creative community, I decided to develop visual assets specifically tailored for aspiring creatives who are venturing into the industry.

Hong Kong, with its vibrant culture, iconic skyline, and bustling streets has been a constant source of inspiration for my visuals. The city's remarkable mix of Eastern and Western influences not only shaped my perception of the city but also had a great impact on my creative process during my time living here. This place holds a special place in my heart, and I consider everything I do now as my love letter to Hong Kong.

Color grading has become a huge part of my life, all thanks to Blackmagic Design. In the past few years, this passion has driven me to pursue a career as a colorist in the film industry, all while also keeping my hands in directing, cinematography, and editing work.

Capturing cinematic visuals from live events is where I get to truly be in my element. With cinematography & color grading, I'm able to create engaging visuals that not only capture the event itself, but also evoke the emotions and atmosphere of the moment.
